www.seia.ie The Sustainable Energy Association has been established to give a voice to the
interests of the Renewable Energy Industry. Basically the SEA will become a kind RECI for renewable energy installers
and to lobby Government to make sure that the joined up thinking (vis-a-vis
renewables) continues/improves. Northern Ireland had the rug pulled out
from under them with the absolution of grants followed by the watering down
of building regulations after lobbying by the construction industry.
Some of the bigger renewable energy companies are represented at board level
and have pumped quite a bit of money in behind the scenes. However to be an
accurate voice, the SEA is looking for new members.

building a wind turbine from scratch, Hugh Piggott's designs are a proven
option. He's been building them, flying them, and teaching about home
built wind power for over 25 years. Even if you're buying a wind turbine,
his site gives details of many of the common pitfalls of domestic and
small commercial wind turbines. Not the best laid out site in the world,
but a treasure trove of information.

Get much cheaper electricity. Currently ‘Synergy Service’ publishes the planned electricity price
for the following day. This is called the D-1 price. Four days after the trading day, the final
market price is settled. This price is called the D+4 price and it is the price used to settle
trades among the players in the electricity pool. By using the Synergy module to time
electrical loads, commericial consumers change their load profile to the cheapest part of the day,
and thus can negiotate a much better deal with their electrical suppliers.
